It holds true that Alberta’s economy is strong when every region in our province is thriving. Fort McMurray has been hit by some significant external forces in recent months - flood, energy industry crisis, pandemic - yet the community remains banded together and committed to returning stronger than ever. Foundry and the 55 North community are committed to doing our part to support Northern Alberta and drive the region forward. In light of the recent flooding and ongoing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, travel, and major events, Fort McMurray has asked us to give them time to get ready to receive you at 55 North.

We at 55 North have had the pleasure of being welcomed into the boardrooms and businesses of the Wood Buffalo region; we see the community’s tenacity and fortitude. We hear their stories, feel their passion, and are understanding of their current challenges. As a result, we are postponing 55 North until June 2021. This will allow us to best support our Ft McMurray community partners, ensure the 55 North experience can continue to be held to the highest standard, and avoid any public health concerns delegates or partners may have regarding attending an event in September. We ask you to be patient, hang in with us, and stay strong with Fort McMurray.
